Mission: To provide a children’s DVD centered on the Summer Camp experience. To encourage, entertain and teach, foundationally, utilizing Bible-based values. A Google search did not find other programs based upon the Summer Camp idea; one that children identify and resonate with very strongly, as witnessed by the creators of this program. Why not provide a camping experience 12/365 for previous campers (old and young alike), and for those not afforded the opportunity of a camping experience.
Premise: The cast of characters include:
- The Fringle
- A wacky Camp Director
- A Lifeguard who is afraid of the water
- A silly Nature Director
- A grumpy Janitor (who is always trying to catch the animal but never succeeds)
- The Cook
- Camp Counselors and child campers
- Several Animal Characters including: Fanny Fox, Ricky Raccoon, Rupert Rat, Squeaky Squirrel, Freddy Frog, Baby Jaws and the Wise Old Owl.
During the course of the show, the children sing camp/praise songs (new and the nostalgic old), relive camp skits, go on a “Fringle Hunt”, participate in camp activities and learn a Bible lesson at the campfire.
A subplot runs through the show that involves the animals finding a Bible. They don’t know what it is and spend the course of the episode tracking down the identity of this mysterious book.
Budget: The project can be produced on a minimal budget, estimates still being calculated. This will entail most participants doing work voluntarily or on a back-end basis. Additionally, there will also be a budget for marketing and distribution. The companies presently under consideration are: Marketing: "Edify Media." Distribution: "Sound Enterprises" (co-owned by actor Jim Caviezel). It's all still in the planning, pre-production stage.
